Birmingham Hospice is inviting local businesses to get involved with its Enterprise Challenge, helping young people develop practical business skills while raising vital funds for local hospice care.
The initiative was recently introduced at the Park’s Social Value Committee meeting. Schools and colleges taking part receive a £50 investment, sponsored by a local business, and are challenged to turn it into at least £500 through their own enterprise and fundraising ideas.
There are several ways for businesses to get involved, from sponsoring a student team and offering mentoring and feedback to joining judging panels and attending student presentations.
Luke Manley, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Birmingham Hospice, said:
“Support like this allows us to work with schools, helping young people develop valuable life and workplace skills, while also raising money for people who desperately need specialist end-of-life care.”
Birmingham Hospice needs to raise £8 million each year to continue providing its specialist care. By supporting the Enterprise Challenge, businesses can help young people gain valuable experience while contributing to a cause that makes a real difference to local families.
